Each model has specifications for each model design. When your order is placed, the saddle maker will hand-cut the leather chosen for your order. The leather is cut to the specifications of both the model design and requirements stated on the order for both horse and rider. This is a timely process to hand-cut the leather with preciseness and with care. Most brands have resprted to the production lines and a machine stamp cutter to speed up the process of saddle making. Each leather hide has its own uniqueness within the leather which includes the scars, uneveness with the colour and any weakness within the hide. When hand-cutting the leather, our masters are able to carefully identify and assure the structural integrety within the leather. This process ensures our strict quality control guidelines giving our clients the confidence they deserve in the products they order through XVII.
